KIOSK+
BURG CRYSTAL
CO2 neutral exhibition kiosk for the university
Halle (Germany) 2013
A kiosk as lightweight construction, which can be installed and dismantled using simple means, has to be developed. The KIOSK + enables the presentation and sale functions in small spaces. The choice of building materials plays a decisive role in this process. In the sense of sustainable construction, efficient material consumption, and the recycling potential have to be considered. The basic module KIOSK+ should be able to fulfill its function as a single object and allow a larger unit in addition. On a larger scale, this basic module and the units derived from it are intended to be used to fill urban squares or exhibition halls.
BURG CRYSTAL: When used at trade fairs, the KIOSK+ must be able to adequately present the range of the design and art objects produced at the Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design.

Assembly instructions
The Burg Crystal is a structure, which serves the presentation of the Burg-students and their work at the university. My design is based on the aim of fast construction and mobility. Lightweight and sustainability in the design and selection of materials play an important role. As a substructure, plastic round tubes with three-point joints made of hard plastic are joined together and assembled on the four aluminum feet. The facade and the roof, consisting of 650 folded corrugated cardboard triangles, offer space for just as many students work. Each college-student gets a triangle and can design it individually. Subsequently, the triangles are attached to the substructure. If all 1,100 students and the staff of the Burg Giebichensetin University of Art and Design would participate, two Burg Crystals could be built.
